Leadership Dialogue Series: An 'Easy' Approach

On 28 April, the School hosted Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, Chairman and Founder of easyGroup, as part of the Leadership Dialogue Series. The session was fully-subscribed, with over 120 people, including corporate partners, alumni, faculty, staff and students, attending the session.Sir Stelios is a serial entrepreneur. At the age of 28, he created easyJet, a low-cost airline that revolutionised European air travel. In addition, Sir Stelios also created Stelmar, a shipping company which was floated on the New York Stock Exchange. Other brands under the easyGroup include easyCar, easyMoney and easyHotel.
Leadership Dialogue Series: Setting Your Compass To Success

On 21 Jan, Seminar Room 5-4 at the new Mochtar Riady Building overflowed with participants who came to listen to a talk by Ms Euleen Goh. It was a highly engaging session for both the participants and Ms Goh. Titled “Setting your Compass to Success”, this talk is part of the School’s 45th Anniversary Business Thought Leadership Dialogue Series.
Ms Goh is currently the non-executive Chairman of the Singapore International Foundation (SIF). She previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore from 2001 till March 2006. Ms Goh was named Her World Woman of the Year 2005. She was awarded a Public Service Medal for her contributions to the Financial Services sector in the same year.
Leadership Dialogue Series: Values In The Working World

As part of the NUS Business School Leadership Dialogue series, students, alumni and staff from NUS had the opportunity to meet CEO of Singapore Exchange Mr Hsieh Fu Hua, where he gave his insights on the fundamentals of values and the roles of ethics in the business world. Mr Hsieh is also the Deputy Chairman of NUS Business School Management Advisory Board and a member of the NUS Board of Trustees.
According to Mr Hsieh, one must have trust, a sense of purpose and balance. Integrity, humility and respect for others are equally as important. Every good and dynamic company must have a strong and clear leadership with a value system in place. For any organisation to succeed, employees must have the passion for the company’s values in order to have a sense of fulfilment and achievement.

The inaugural Leadership Dialogue session by Mr Hsieh Tsun-Yan on “Is Everyone a Leader?” was a resounding success. Over 200 participants attended the 30 September event, including BBA and MBA students, faculty, staff and alumni.
